On the tab 'North + South' (or 'East + West') you can define point and length ranges for the pair in total.
In this example N-S will have 10-11 cards in ♠ together. It doesn't matter if they are divided 5-5, 6-4, 4-6, 6-5, 7-4 etc. This can be useful if your opponents are jump supporting each other. Usually that is based on length. These settings are applied upon the individual settings. So if North is said to have at least 5♠ this stands and the division can't be 4-6.
The point combination can be useful to. Suppose the opponents have an invitational sequence from 1NT-2NT-3NT. You can set the combined HCP on 24-26. So if North has 8 HCP, South will have 16-17 else this deal will be rejected.
