With Bridge Compass you can work with projects. You don't have to. You could work with an unnamed (no-name) project all the time (or sometime). That's like working with a blank document in your office applications. Instead of cleaning up files on your filesystem, you can remove projects. A special function is deleting the boards of projects. This screen looks like this:
For a significant result you have to create lots of deals (e.g. 2000-5000). This will fill your database after a time with boards that you never look at anyways. By removing these boards you save disk space and your database will be faster because the tables are much smaller. On the option screen you can set if you want to keep those boards at all on exit. By default it is set to false. But keeping those boards has the advantage that you don't have to generate and calculate again.
You can select the type of project to delete. The practice deal project is not mentioned. Those deals are usually not much. If you have a practice deal project and click on the bidding decision tab, it is changed to such a project. But you won't lose those boards. Bridge Compass remembers which project type it was when the boards were created or imported.
Another functionality is exporting (and importing) projects:
The default project to export is the one that is currently loaded. The export format is a Bridge Compass database. A new empty database is created, and the project(s) of your choice are copied into that one. This has the advantage that you can share projects easily.
If a project database is shared you could connect to it and work with that directly. Another option is importing the projects.
The projects will be imported in your connected database. That doesn't have to be the default Bridge Compass database. Besides choosing the type of projects you can select what to do with double names. If you choose to rename, a copy is made, and a number is concatenated to the project name. You can clean up your projects afterwards.
